Position Description
Job Summary
Our Royse City, TX Concrete admixture manufacturing facility is looking for a Buyer. The Buyer is responsible for supporting the supply plans, translating demand into creating orders to support production including materials management of raw & pack, work in-process, excess, and obsolete inventory. Experience in chemical manufacturing a plus.
The role is tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with manufacturing operations, sales and service to manage stock levels, support the schedule and production with operational efficiencies in standard & pre-build business situations.
Job Requirements
Comply with all site safety and quality policies
Effective demonstration of interpersonal and team facilitation skills that are customer oriented
Purchase raw materials and tolled/externally manufactured goods in accordance with MRP demand planning as well as indirect materials (supplies, utilities etc.).
Assure timely delivery of raw materials from Suppliers
Maintain adequate stock to support production requirements & safety stock levels
Support plant production scheduling as needed
Post production orders as needed
Be highly “process driven” and continuously improve the supply chain, planning, scheduling, and materials management
Build and maintain relationships with S&OP and Supplier key contacts
Ensure proper and timely execution of Purchase orders for all Raw Materials
Reconcile invoice issues to ensure timely payment to suppliers
Perform frequent cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy
Receive order acknowledgements. Prepare and process paperwork for LTL shipments as needed, including pick list, packaging labels, bill of ladings, etc. and schedule carrier
Verify receiving records for accuracy and complete data entry
Schedule appointments for “Will Call” customers
Take part in investigations as needed
Complete special projects as assigned
Ensure Goods Receipts and Goods Issues are posted in a timely manner
Order office/safety materials as needed i.e., Staples/Grainger
File production and delivery records in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum High School diploma or accredited GED
Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing chemicals preferred
Solid knowledge of Supply Chain procedures (planning, supply management, capacity leveling, product deployment and inventory control)
Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations)
Strong written and verbal communications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
MRP, ERP material planning experience required
Previous scheduling experience preferred
Lean experience a plus
