Zurich North America is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst II or III to join our Data Management team based out of North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. While this position will preferably be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are open to a remote location for a well-qualified candidate with the understanding that occasional travel to Schaumburg will be required.
The Business Systems Analyst will serve as an Agile Scrum/Kanban Development team member and work with the Business and Data Management, providing solutions for business systems needs and will understand business objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.
In addition, as a key member of the Data Management team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for profiling, analyzing and documenting the technical requirements for their assigned Agile team backlog.

Ability to master complex data transformations concepts, includes data warehousing principles
Ability to work to capture requirements in a formal manner
Ability to be resilient in the face of a complex system, complex problems, and demanding deadlines
Ability to work well with others in a highly interdependent high-performance team
This individual will collaborate with the team to translate business needs/requirements into technical specifications/user stories for product increments while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction, and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and a skilled professional requiring minimal supervision who operates as a servant leader within the team.
This role will be filled at either the Business System Analyst II or III level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Other responsibilities may include:
Coordinate and drive activities with product owners and business stakeholders to refine prioritized backlog and gather requirements
Document appropriate detailed functional and non-functional requirements
Identify data most valuable to the organization, and evaluate this data and alignment with the corporate data model
Manage business rules to enhance and optimize filtering results
Use requirements management tools and techniques such as JIRA documenting backlog (epics, user stories, etc.), Persona models, Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, , etc.
Support development, testing, implementation, and some training activities
Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e., Agile methodology, Scrum/Kanban) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich frameworks
Basic Qualifications:
Business System Analyst II:
Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area
OR
Business System Analyst III:
Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development areaOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area
Preferred Qualifications:
SQL server experience
SQL Query
Databricks knowledge
Programming experience in Python
Agile / Scum Methodology
Data Warehouse experience / normalized tables
ETL Informatica
Finance or Insurance industry experience
Data Profiling and Data Mapping experience
Strong written and verbal communication experience
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.The combined salary range for this position is$83,700.00 - $157,700.00.The starting salary range for theBusiness System Analyst IIis$83,700.00 - $137,100.00and for theBusiness System Analyst IIIis$96,300.00 - $157,700.00.
