Thermo Fisher Scientific's Measurement Control and Sample Identification (MCS) is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) and supplies innovative solutions for microscopy, spectroscopy and microanalysis.
Brief role summary:
Business Development Manager, MCS leads the regional relationship between established and emerging Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, Battery, Food manufacturing, R&D sites, CRO, CDMO (existing & to-be), innovation centers (including those in key academic institutes). They will build and strengthen the relationship with high profile customers in overall ecosystem and build new opportunities for MCS vibrational spectroscopy, microscopy/Imaging systems. They will regularly devise the market strategy and collaborate with the division to build focused account partnership/growth strategies. They will develop relationships at the senior level, within key ecosystem organizations and MCS to plan and implement an ecosystem strategy to increase revenue for the division. The role will position MCS's Raman and Infrared microscopy and imaging solutions, as well as position MCS in the perspective of the whole Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporation in alignment with the Corporate Account Executives and other Divisional Commercial leads.
What will you be doing?
Accelerate MCS growth through positioning of Raman, Infrared microscopy or imaging solutions with Pharmaceutical, Battery, Semiconductor, Food manufacturing, Academics, R&D sites, innovation centers.Establish relationships with key collaborators, decision makers and corporate developers in the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceuticals, Semiconductor, Battery manufacturing/R&D, Novel Food manufacturing/R&D space, to use these relations for partnership and growth.Build strategies incorporating Vibrational spectroscopy portfolio and Materials & Structural analysis Division and its field sales organizations, to drive growth and improve market share within the regional ecosystem.Identify key areas of short term and long-term growth in the emerging Battery, semiconductor Pharma, food, and immerging materials technology sectorRepresent the entire Vibrational spectroscopy/microscopy portfolio and be amenable for the interface between the account, MCS and other divisions. Partner closely with other Thermo Fisher Commercial leads and Corporate Accounts.Conduct regular business updates to key partners within regional ecosystem and Thermo Fisher.Develop the business objectives for the ecosystem strategy with the commercial team, including product management and applications scientists.Delivers upon assigned revenue targets on a quarterly and annual basis.Ensure a well-adapted process to define, communicate, activate, implement, and performance run strategic choices and initiatives that will drive achievement of goals.Provide market insight and input into commercial tools, programs and processes that can be confirmed broadly across the organization, including portfolio and pricing strategies.Partner with the leadership team in EMEA and USA to tailor growth strategies across specific geographies.
What will you need?
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering or other related subject area required. Master's Degree preferred. PhD a plus.Experience with microscopy and imaging, or use of scientific camerasSales experience or end market experience of working within the key market segments Semiconductor, battery, Pharmaceuticals/Bio-pharmaceuticals, Materials Technology, Medical devices industry.Understanding of customers workflow using optical, Vibrational Spectroscopy/Microscopy for Cleanliness verification, particle detection, foreign particulate identification, micro plastics' analysis, forensics analysis.Effective communication skills, which includes English language (oral, written) and other languages would be an advantage (where applicable)A strong teammate with proven track record to coordinate activities within a matrixed environment and influence actions across a team of resources not directly reporting within.Possess strong analytical capabilities that can assess and understand profitability of customer relationships, in order to optimally form partnerships.Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.Understanding of international business with secure financial/discernment.Well established project management skills. Analysis, planning, organization, execution, and follow-up.Ability to travel overnight (30-40%)
