Business Development Manager, Data Marketplace

You are a customer-focused, data-driven rockstar. You’ve spent 3-5+ years in front of clients and partners, and have excellent commercial/sales instincts. Successful candidate profiles may include individuals with a background in data and/or marketing strategy. Ideally experience in supporting 3rd party data (3PD) targeting, analytics, measurement, media selling, planning, or buying. Candidate has a knack for how the online world works and can creatively connect the dots from a consumer strategy through conversion. This role requires cross-functional skills, plus client-facing polish.
You will:
Contribute to revenue acceleration for a $100M+ business line
First and foremost support daily third-party data (3PD) matching of buyers and sellers
Develop strategies to drive agency demand for our Advertiser Direct offering, which enables customers to use 3PD to improve targeting performance on paid social (Facebook, etc)
Own inbound requests from Data Marketplace customers: agencies (primarily), platforms and brands interested in 3PD use on paid social and programmatic
Generate proactive outbound ideas for current and potential agencies (based on benchmark analysis, industry trends, sales team needs, gaps in strategy)
Take a consultative approach to help the world’s most sophisticated marketers be successful with Data Marketplace (including, but not limited to: pitch calls, new buyer kick-offs, strategy sessions, sales team trainings, demos, client business reviews)
Drive scalable adoption of sales enablement materials (e.g. priorities, processes, playbooks) to train and equip vertical sales and account teams to be more effective and customer-first
Lend thought leadership across the Data Marketplace ecosystem: analyzing emerging trends, developing new strategies, crafting thoughtful execution, sharing best practices with internal and external stakeholders to expand GMV/LiveRamp revenue
Contribute to the broader Data Marketplace team
Contribute to product vision and prioritization by building relationships with key stakeholders
Identify/address marketplace friction points through cross-functional teams & projects
Increase business intelligence capability to support better data-driven decision making

LiveRamp’s Data Marketplace connects the world’s most sophisticated data buyers to trusted, people-based data sources to power every marketing use case. Brand, agency, and programmatic partners rely on 3rd party data (3PD) to improve advertiser ROAS and develop their own unique solutions. LiveRamp helps these partners adopt and scale their 3PD strategies, and this role within Data Marketplace oversees a key LiveRamp initiative–namely, paid social for leading agencies.
You will help refine and scale our existing 3PD agency strategy, create and market new data buying innovations, and help our commercial sales team better sell and service Data Marketplace products.
About you:
Have a bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of a degree
3-5+ years work experience across business development, sales roles, account management, customer service, media planning or buying, data strategy, and/or paid social advertising
Experience with the advertising ecosystem
Demonstrated excellence in your personal and professional endeavors
Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written); our success relies on balancing multiple interests to increase value for all marketplace participants
Self-motivation and strong attention to detail (details matter a lot!)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Can apply creativity and passion to data
Have a multiplier mentality that seeks to significantly improve the business’ potential, while putting yourself in the shoes of those implementing your strategies

The approximate annual base compensation range is $100,000 to $125,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
