Job Title: Business Development Manager, Clinical Lab Services
Reports To: Director, Sales

How will you make an impact?
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Transplant Diagnostics Division (TDX) recently launched a laboratory services strategic business segment (SBS). One Lambda Laboratories in Fisher, Indiana will offer clinical and research testing services to medical professionals, biopharma companies, and research partners. This role will focus on positioning the services offered by the lab to enable our clinicians to provide important diagnostic results to patients, as well as help outside partners to identify patient populations that may benefit from a life-saving therapy.
What will you do?
The Business Development Manager, Clinical Lab Services will be the commercial arm of our services SBS. The person in this role is expected to identify and close opportunities in the clinical and research space. Among the first tasks for this role will be to commercially execute on the launch of our urinary biomarker assays for use in kidney transplant patient populations. Specifically, the role is responsible for generating transplant clinician contacts, promoting our services, and executing on adoption of these novel new assays. The role is a fast paced, emerging market role aimed at uncovering growth opportunities. Key activities:
Build out a business development opportunity funnel for clinical urinary biomarker assays offered by the laboratory for the use in post-transplant kidney monitoring. Close out these opportunities to generate revenue for the services SBS.
Understand the clinical strategies for post-transplant monitoring and how they apply to the services One Lambda Labs offers.
Build out a business development opportunity funnel for a novel pre-transplant immune response assay and close these opportunities to generate revenue.
Build partnerships with transplant clinicians in the United States to further the usage of our clinical services.
Partner with our biopharma business development team to promote other services offered by One Lambda labs that could generate interest in the companion diagnostic, research and biopharma space. Specifically in the areas of HLA typing and HLA antibody screening.
Analyze industry dynamics and competitive landscape to seek opportunities for expansion in novel growth markets and regions.
Meet annual revenue targets and record opportunities and sales activities in salesforce.com
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in business, life sciences, economics or other related field.
Ability to rapidly identify opportunities and build a strong funnel to grow this business segment.
3+ years of in-depth commercial, product management, business development and/or marketing in a related industry.
Experience in the fields of transplantation, immunogenetics, and/or HLA is strongly preferred.
Strong intuition for business and a consistent track record to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth
Knowledge of clinical trial and regulatory pathways for IVD and/or therapeutics is preferred.
Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills
Excellent presentation and analytical skills
Demonstrated success working in a global, matrixed-environment with ability to influence without direct authority
Ability to understand, analyze and assimilate sophisticated issues, draw correct conclusions and formulate clear strategy and policies
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
