Hitachi Energy is seeking a Business Development Manager for its transformer components business, covering our global portfolio of bushings and tap-changers. This position allows hybrid work (remote and on-site) and will cover US, CA & MX markets. This position will also be responsible for the promotion & communication with target customers and will report to NAM Marketing & Sales Manager for Transformer Components.
Your responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders and conduct market research for the components portfolio (bushings and tap changers).Create and implement promotional activities plan with a short/mid/long term strategy for dedicated target groups (utilities and other end user segments, consultants, design institutes, engineering/architect offices, authorities etc.).Lead technical discussions with target customers, creating a long-term relationship and influencing specifications at a pre-tender stage.Manage or perform activities to identify and develop new business opportunities utilizing the global portfolio (bushings and tap changers) in North America. Lead and/or participate in planning efforts in conjunction with other Hitachi Energy factories, as applicable.
Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish regular reports and statistics for promotional activities. Reviews and analyzes performance against standards and prepares improvements plans.Drive and ensure know-how sharing and cross-collaboration with other internal factories/Hubs.
Your background
Bachelor's degree in engineering or business and three (3) years of experience in marketing & technical sales. Must have knowledge as it relates to Business Development management.Must have experience in the transformers business. Knowledge of transformers components (bushings & tap changers) is preferred.
Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical inputs, reports and discussions and reach sound business and commercial decisions.Networking, superior communication & negotiation skills.Strong experience with electric utilities, EPC's and consultants.Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United StatesAvailability for travel > 50%
