Job Description The Global Product Organization delivers the holistic product strategy for Visa and accelerates the seamless delivery of our products into markets. Our business in Sub-Saharan Africa includes more than 45 markets of the most exciting economies in Africa, and include our offices in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, Abidjan, Accra and Kigali. As part of the Product team in SSA, you will assist in designing and implementing the go-to-market strategy for product sales and deployment at Visa. Your role may include aspects of consultative client engagement, product strategy, execution, and analytics to craft solutions to meet customer needs. You will also be working with a team that supports technical conversations and deployment with external partners, including advising on how they can work with Visa to build custom solutions that utilize their strengths to enhance Visa’s solution bundles.
About the Role
This role will be a member of the business development (BD) team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful applicant will be responsible for business leadership of a portfolio of Visa clients through relationship management and sales disciplines. Knowledge of payments and financial services combined with a passion for digital innovations, strong communication and influencing skills will ensure revenue and profitability growth for Visa and your portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Execute short and long-term strategic plans for clients aligned to Visa’s South African market strategy
Develop and execute a set of objectives and goals for your portfolio of clients to increase your clients’ payment volume and revenue
Understand and articulate how Visa’s new payment tools and technologies will drive commercial value to your clients
Follow global industry and local market trends, bringing insight and value to your portfolio of clients
Identify, size, pitch for, and close new business opportunities by analyzing clients’ market positioning, product profile and strategy
Foster client-centric collaboration across Visa’s functional teams to ensure effective delivery of relevant payment solutions
Work with clients on ways to maximize profitability by offering advice on the development of target markets, product development, analytics and relevant best practice
Responsible for achieving or exceeding client satisfaction net promoter scores.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications 8+ years business experience with related sales and account management experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree education with focus on IT, Engineering or similar technical field, OR with focus on financial management, strategy, accounting, with Honours degree preferred
Preference for candidates with experience in retail or transactional banking, especially with card or payments experience.
However, talented candidates with account leadership experience from consulting or technology sectors will be considered.
