WhatsApp is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join our growing team and lead our business communications efforts in Latin America. WhatsApp is already relied upon by millions of small businesses globally and is fast becoming the preferred way for larger organizations to help customers via the WhatsApp Business API. This role will help us tell compelling local stories and increase awareness for this rapid shift in consumer behavior. Candidates must be clear thinkers, creative, and bring passion for the role WhatsApp can play in transforming the way people and businesses communicate. We are looking for a candidate that is a self-starter, motivated storyteller, who can establish and run ongoing campaigns to tell relevant stories in the region and give support to WhatsApp's business model narrative. The ideal candidate brings a knowledge of the enterprise industry, sales, and online advertising and is able to represent our business in an accessible and understandable way to a variety of audiences. This role will closely collaborate with the global business communications teams, tailoring our approach for the region they represent, as well as represent our team with local Sales and Partnerships stakeholders. As business communications lead for Latin America, this role will be expected to establish close relationships with local executives, media as well as with our partners and direct customers to proactively create opportunities to elevate our narrative in their region.This position will be based in Sao Paulo.
Business Communications Manager, WhatsApp - LATAM Responsibilities:
Build and executive proactive communications campaigns for WhatsApp's business, working with the global comms team to implement our strategy locallyBuild and maintain meaningful relationships with reporters focusing on business, technology, and advertisingRepresent the business communications team in their regions, in internal meetings, as well as to external stakeholders, including the media, partners and customersDevelop and create a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, communications plans, statements, briefing materials for executives and morePrepare and train local spokespeople as well as represent WhatsApp to the mediaBuild and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams locally, across Partnerships, Marketing and SalesManage agencies to support day-to-day and broader campaign effortsMinimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in communications for a technology company, B2B enterprise, or agencyBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations or similar fieldExperience distilling business concepts into plain language for non-expert audiences. Experience creating messaging materials, and partnering collaboratively with third-partiesExperience in reactive messaging or handling crisis communicationsPreferred Qualifications:
