　　About This Job:

　　As a Business Analyst Intern, you will work on interesting problems and deliver significant outcomes while getting to know our Analyst Community and learning what makes CarMax a great place to work. This 10-week project-based internship, will provide rising Juniors, Seniors, and current Graduate students the opportunity to apply strategic thinking, problem solving, and data analytics skills as a member of one of our analyst teams to solve a real problem CarMax is facing today. You will work cross-functionally to understand and analyze business problems, and you will drive action by sharing your analysis with key business leaders.

　　Business Analyst Intern:

　　Business analysts are the analytical authorities at CarMax leveraging their expertise to drive tangible results and guide strategic decision-making.

　　Analyze

　　This role enables you to apply your analytical skillset to CarMax's proprietary, industry-leading data and unique business problems. You will gain a qualitative and quantitative understanding of CarMax's business so that you can help design and optimize strategies at the heart of our business & contribute significantly to our success as we continue to disrupt our industry.

　　Collaborate

　　As an intern, you will work closely with leadership & peers in operations, product, marketing, technology, and other business areas to create a solution to an important business problem. You will use your presentation and communication skills to demonstrate the value of your analysis to relevant business partners. Output from your work will be leveraged by our teams to improve and innovate.

　　Learn & Grow

　　Internships enable new analysts to develop an understanding of our business and build a professional network along the way. Meet & Greets with senior executives (including our CEO) help you learn about our company & our unique culture. Formal training ensures analysts have the tools to be successful & a strong understanding of your business area. Throughout the internship, analysts develop technical skills (e.g., coding, analytic methods) & soft skills (communication & storytelling).

　　What You Need To Succeed:

　　Passion for problem-solving and desire to develop into a strong business analystPractical experience in/outside of work (coursework/projects, research, internships, etc.)Curiosity & the ability to apply critical thinking skills in a variety of scenariosProactivity (the ability to self-start) and a commitment to delivering results

　　Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsDedication to continuous improvement and innovationPassion for growth, development, and learning new thingsPrior experience in SQL nice to have but not required

　　Work Authorization:

　　Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

　　Associates will have the opportunity to work from our Corporate Headquarters & Technology Innovation Center, both located in Richmond, VA.
