Description
Lee County is pleased to announce a new opportunity within our Solid Waste Department! The Business Analyst plays a crucial role by analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with various Solid Waste internal business units, County departments, and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements, processes, and workflows.
Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Assist with developing meaningful performance metrics, data analytics, and reporting.
Assist stakeholders/management with application of performance metrics and analytics to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs.
Assist Fiscal Manager with development of ad hoc reporting, utilizing Crystal and various query applications.
The incumbent will develop a tracking mechanism for Procurement submissions Sole Source/Single Source contracts and contract expirations to ensure fiscal accuracy and compliance. Assist management and staff with Procurement and County Grants Administration and with the facilitation of the procurement process, including the internal SharePoint tracking.
Provide quality control for tracking, approvals, and documentation of contracts and related records. Coordinate Board agenda item drafts and reviews.
Full responsibility for department grants, including but not limited to, tracking, State applications and compliance, expense reimbursement, reporting, grant opportunities research, and applications.
Monitor and track capital improvement and major maintenance projects.
Perform other related work as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or closely related field and one year accounting, bookkeeping or closely related experience.
Three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
Three years of experience with query writing and practical application preferred.
This position requires possession of a valid Class E driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Supplemental Information
Experience with MS Office, JD Edwards E1, OnBase preferred
Experience with Crystal Reports and/or MS Report Builder preferred
Experience with Excel pivot tables and chart building preferred
Customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
Ability to prepare and distribute reports to varying levels of management
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, managers, and the public
Workdays and hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, or as needed.
