The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated candidate for the position of Building Maintenance and Fleet Supervisor for the Northeast Region. The Building Maintenance and Fleet Supervisor will organize, direct schedule, and participate in the maintenance and operations of the residential homes throughout the Northeast Region. _ Duties and Responsibilities:_ * Manage and oversee all aspects of maintenance, repair, and safety of the residential homes. * Develop and maintain spreadsheets/data base to track monthly safety inspections, scheduled maintenance, home, and vehicle repairs. * Develop and maintain tracking systems for Housing Authorities and Private Landlords. * Develop and maintain files for each group home and vehicle. * Oversee all aspects of fleet management of 132 state vehicles including repair, safety, and scheduled maintenance. * Utilize Telematics system to track vehicle safety issues and address needs as necessary. * Collaborates with the Office for Vehicle Management (OVM) to advocate for the replacement of older vehicles and to ensure active fuel cards are accessible to eligible employees. * Collaborates with Fleet Response and DDS Legal to ensure that accidents are processed, and the necessary information is available for Tort Claims. * Collaborates with contractors such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC personnel to coordinate repairs, capital projects and home improvements. * Oversees and collaborates with contractors for the removal of trash. * Collaborates with the Regional Operations Manager and Business Office Manager to ensure that all procurement regulations are being followed. * Manages and oversees assigned maintenance budget, which includes the submission of purchase orders and tracking receipts as well as submitting payments to landlords. * Collaborates with NRS and DDS Regional staff to ensure staff are trained in the safe operation of vehicles and are aware of safety measures. * Coordinates and participates in agency moves. * Supervises Maintenance staff. _ Preferred Qualifications:_ * General knowledge of building facility maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical. * General knowledge of building codes and ADA regulations. * General knowledge of fleet and vehicle management. * General knowledge of contracts and purchasing. * General knowledge of repair and maintenance schedules. * Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License * About the Agency:* The Department of Developmental Services is dedicated to creating, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members. * Pre-Hire Process:* Recommended candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening which includes: * Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) Abuse Registry Search: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/dppc-abuser-registry * Criminal background check (CORI) by regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. http://www.mass.gov/hhs/cori * National Background Checks, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, conduct fingerprint-based check. * https://www.mass.gov/lists/dds-fingerprint-background-checks Education and license/certification information provided by the selected candidate(s) is subject to the Massachusetts Public Record Law and may be published on the Commonwealth's website.
