Job Description
Ensures proper patient identification, verifies orders, and preparespatients for exams.Uses proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-qualitydiagnostic exams.Demonstrates the ability to perform any exam on all ages of patients(neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) usingappropriate protocol and following ACR guidelines.Demonstrates proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department.Completes and annotates a medically acceptable exam, following ACRguidelines while producing the maximum diagnostic information in a minimalamount of time.Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, andcharging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events that mayoccur, for quality, maintaining a current QC program for ACR and reportingany equipment failures or problems.Exhibits good safety practices in body substance protection, cleaning ofequipment, using proper sterile techniques, and removing any expiredmaterials.Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, includingtime stamps and image storage.
QualificationsARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry. The ARDMS must include successful completionof one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options includeOB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular).Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.Ultrasound experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assesspatient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitorsthat require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understandspoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately,particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicateequipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use andtyping for documenting patient care, accessing needed information,medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift an utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Willalso bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typicallyincludes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtainingand distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pullinggurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required tonavigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on thefloor, eMay be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period oftime.
