Position Overview
The cars you drive the bridges you cross, the building you work in, the phone you use, the movies you watch, and the video games you play all have one thing in common: they were designed and made with Autodesk's software.
You'll help to tell that story in service of amplifying the Autodesk brand. You'll identify and explore ways to tell our story, and demonstrate the impact Autodesk's software and customers have on the world with necessary external partners, including press, influencers, podcasters, and other voices driving the cultural conversation forward.
We ask that you collaborate with brand and marketing teams, support storytelling for Autodesk's education and other marketing projects. You have experience encouraging close relationships with press and developing creative ways to use multiple channels to reach strategic target audiences. You are a writer have experience engaging with VP and C-level executives and can be comfortable achieving quick timelines. You will report to our Head of Brand and Marketing Communications. This position is a remote role.
Responsibilities
Develop communications strategies and PR plans that amplify the Autodesk brandIdentify opportunities to demonstrate how Autodesk's Design and Make Platform has played a meaningful role in the worldSupport brand and advertising campaigns with earned media coverage, develop a comprehensive public relations strategy for Autodesk's education programs by highlighting student and customers stories, and amplify unique insights and data coming from our thought leadership teamBring colleagues together across our teams to tell stories that capture our customers and the world's imaginations. You'll use these relationships to identify unique and creative PR opportunities and events, centered around key cultural moments or social conversations to amplify the Autodesk brand and our impact on the worldCultivate and work with strategic press, influencers, podcasters, and other necessary external publications and team membersYou'll coordinate press briefings, media tours, and events, and develop press materials including pitches, blog posts, releases, FAQs, and fact sheetsCreate a narrative that supports the external storytelling about Autodesk's brandManage proactive news engagements and handle reactive inbound inquiries
Minimum Qualifications
You have at least 6-8 years of experience in communications and media relations, with at least 2 years of in-house experience at a B2B or B2C tech company experience supporting tech clients at an agency is a bonusYou are a media relations expert with a pulse on current media trends, media moves, and cultural dialogue and conversation; have strong relationships with consumer, brand, marketing, culture, and lifestyle publications, influencers, and podcasters; and have experience landing mainstream press coverage for B2B or B2C tech companiesYou have an ability to develop communications strategies that require engaging diverse partners; and use creative tactics to amplify your story or message across multiple channelsYou are experienced creating narratives, talking points, and messaging, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiencesA Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, journalism, or a related field, and experience in project management is a bonus

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,800 and $179,190. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
