JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary: Supports the National Science Foundationmanaged United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic SupportContract (ASC). Boiler Mechanic will perform hands-on boiler operationtasks on maintenance or construction projects, or any combinationthereof, under the supervision of the PM Foreman. Tasking is based onASC schedule requirements. Position Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair,and perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance on boiler systems:hydronic, hot water heaters, steam HVAC systems and associated equipmentMaintain boiler systems in accordance with provisions of the ASME Boilerand Pressure Vessel Code. Boiler systems may include steam, hydronic,hot water heaters, along with other types of heating systems, pumps,forced air furnaces, air handlers Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot andrepair station boilers and associated systems, heat exchangers, pumps,controls, air handlers, commercial steam kitchens, and zone valves inall buildings. Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and repair circulatingpumps, back-up pumps, heat exchangers, strainers, valves, expansiontanks, air separators, unit heaters, heating coils and system controlsto assure adequate operations Inspect all glycol and steam lines fordamage Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with the preventivemaintenance program Monitor, regulate and repair fuel lines and airadjustments for the boilers Monitor, repair and maintain boiler controlsystems Commission and startup new equipment Submit reports as requiredby supervisor Timely response to emergency service calls during andoutside of normal working hours Maintain accurate and thoroughdocumentation of hours worked, tasking performed, materials used, andprocesses involved Advise Supervisor of job progress and material/laborrequirements Accomplish tasking working from Job Plans, verbalinformation, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, documents,vendor/manufacturer manuals, and applicable specifications and codes.Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), suggestrevisions as needed, and create SOPs as directed Perform taskingoutdoors in environmentally challenging conditions including wind andextreme cold weather Proactively identify any unsafe conditions orhazards and communicate them effectively Work directly with other...For full info follow application link.
