Development of CAE methodologies (fatigue, strength, dynamics, etc.) and creation of CETPs
Improving current CAE methods by correlation and subsequently CETP maintenance to be BIC in the industry for analytical methods
Global unification of CAE methodology
Development of material models and gathering material data
CAE process automation
CAE software benchmarking and global implementation of the most efficient tools
Collaboration with other related Tech Clubs (f.e. joining) and implementation of new interface technology to current CAE methods and processes
Engagement / involvement in body architecture to deliver above implementation ready before UNV0
Engagement in PRA and LL topics during the 8D processes to identify and address methodology weaknesses
To be the SPOC specialist for any Body Structures Durability/NVH/SDS
To present results of investigations to global engineering CAE cluster.
To provide training on Body Structures durability/NVH/SDS, macros, techniques, procedures to the global stakeholders.
Champions Body Structures Durability/NVH/SDS institutional learning through technical training of standards, assessments, and advanced technologies.
Leads and executes the Body Structures Durability/NVH/SDS CAE Technical Club
Awareness of issues and recurrence across AIMS, DURIS, Commodity Health Charts, Standards, Lessons Learned and other CAE groups.
Supports technical problem solving for significant quality/warranty issues and TVMs.
Leads assigned special CAE projects and initiatives
Education/ Knowledge
Bachelor of Science/ Engineering with a Masters of Science/Engineering
Knowledge of classic Finite Element methods
Expert on linear/non-linear implicit/explicit analyses
Expert on the following software/solvers: Nastran, Femfat, Verity, Vendure, nCode/ Designlife, ANSA/Hypermesh, Optistruct and Hyperstudy.
Deep knowledge of Tcl, Python, C++ Deep knowledge of Body structures, mixed metal architecture, castings
Deep knowledge of metallic mechanical/material properties
Deep understanding of metalforming, casting process, BiW feasibility and tooling.
Key Experiences
The following skills and experiences are required qualifications for this role:
Demonstrated Experience in Body Structures legal requirements, homologation and assessments.
Experience on Body Structures Durability/NVH/SDS component/system/vehicle level cross- functional attributes (Safety, Durability, Aerodynamics, water management, NVH, Closures)
Experience on body, both unibody and body on frame architectures, frames, sub-frames
Expert on Fatigue/Structural/NVH/SDS CAE component modeling, system assembly and full vehicle analysis
10 Years of Experience and/or 10 programs performing full system level CAE requirements on BiW.
Demonstrated results in leading multi-region or global teams
Individual and team coaching and development
Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to lead resolution of complex, multi-input issues.
