Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.
The Role:
The BIW Senior Manufacturing/Process Engineer will be for vision guided closure installation. We are looking for a technical leader who can manage standardization and template generation for controls and robotics interface with cross functional teams. This role will be required to work autonomously, with minimal guidance from supervision. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Supporting the manufacturing process definition and sequence operations Developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts and assemblies Ensuring efficient material flow Development and testing of advanced process technology Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality assemblies Developing technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines Developing knowledge and ability to implement Lean principles Build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues Manage major projects and assignments with full autonomy and accountability for results Travel around 25% of the time throughout North America

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, process, or controls engineering Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment 5 years of experience managing major projects including new project launches Demonstrated success in Design for Manufacturing on new product launch Ability to travel around 25% of the time (North America) High level of problem solving and issue resolution aptitude Technical capability with knowledge of automated processes Ability to work with an extended team with many inputs towards a common goal Must have great communication skills both written and oral Ability to lead a work group as well as managing projects experience

10 years of experience in manufacturing, process, or controls engineering Masters of Science in Engineering Military Experience Controls/Robotics Experience Certified Project Manager 6-sigma green or black belt QPM
