Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
Job Description
Are you a Software Engineer enthusiastic about helping solve problems in cancer biology, genomics, and their clinical applications? We need you! The Center for Molecular Oncology’s (CMO) mission is to promote precision oncology through genomic analysis to guide the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. The CMO brings together clinicians and scientists throughout MSK to conduct large-scale translational research involving molecular characterization of patient tumor specimens to identify genomic features that drive clinical outcomes.
We are looking for a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer to support the FDA-recognized precision oncology database OncoKB at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. OncoKB is an integral component of the clinical genomics platform at MSK, codifying MSK’s immense expertise on genomic biomarkers and their clinical applications. OncoKB is currently being used to annotate ~15,000 patient sequencing reports yearly as well as thousands of patients in retrospective cohorts for cancer researchers worldwide. The OncoKB software suite has been developed in-house at MSK since 2013. It includes a curation interface that supports content curation, a public website (oncokb.org) that hosts more than 1000 daily user visits worldwide, as well as a database and API that support real-time annotation of genomic variants identified in cancer patients. To better support clinical decisions and cancer research, we are looking to expand features of all OncoKB components.
You will
Develop comprehensive system designs, considering all aspects of projects.Collaborate closely with the lead software engineer to complement the team's efforts.Work closely with other software engineers, scientists, and clinicians to extend the OncoKB front- and back-end codebase to support evolving analysis or curation needs.Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth.Rapidly troubleshoot and solve problems with existing software systems.You Have
Bachelor's degree or bootcamp in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related fieldAt least 4 years of hands-on experience in full stack web development Proficient with Javascript/Typescript, React, HTML, and CSSProficient with Java, C++, or equivalent server-side languagesProficient with MySQLProficient developing in teams using Git/GitHub or other source code control systems
Pay Range $116,800.00-$192,800.00
