Demonstrates knowledgeof principles and practices of safe care in an outpatient mental healthservice and uses special spills to deescalate situations for the safetyof patients and providers. Demonstrates knowledge and use of equipment,instruments, procedures, and supplies used in the provision of mentalhealth services. Adheres to strict use of standard precautions and theuse of personal protective equipment when applicable. Able to work underpressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina, andendurance. Demonstrates effective service oriented interpersonal skillswith providers and coworkers. Enters patient information whenappropriate and under direction into the medical record.
Physical Requirements:
May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds withassistance. May be expected to push or pull 150-300 pounds withassistance. Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of thetime while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterityessential to performing designated duties required. Optimal auditoryacuity required. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipmentand instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties.Physical conditions are clean, neat and well-lit. May be subjected tounpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous orinfectious agents where judgement as to precautions needed to be takenis essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may beexperienced and required by patient care and needs of the surgical team.Exposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals orsubstances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours ofduty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirementsof the daily surgical schedule.
