  Valley’s Own Bakehouse is a certified gluten-free bakery located in Rosemount that is founded on the belief that everyone should be able to enjoy great-tasting baked goods. From sweet treats to everyday staples, each product is hand-crafted with carefully sourced ingredients.

  Join our team as a Scratch Baker! Qualified applicants will have 1+ years previous professional scratch baking experience and be able to lift 30-50# on a regular basis. Ideally, this candidate is available Monday-Friday between 7a-4p, but for the right candidate we will be flexible to days/hours, including part time hours. Candidates who have serve safe certification or previous gluten free experience would be a plus.

  Baking, Quality and Consistency

  Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, using Hobart mixer, or beat and stir ingredients by hand

  Shape dough for cookies and pies. Place in greased or floured pans and bake.

  Work with proof box and rack oven baking

  Frost and pipe cakes, cupcakes and cream tarts

  Help maintain inventory of baking supplies, coolers and freezers

  Package product, case product and freeze product

  Ensure products are produced according to established standards

  As requested,

  Perform gluten and other allergen testing as requested

  Research and develop new recipes as requested

  Business Operations, Safety and Compliance

  Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies

  Wash dishes according to established guidelines

  Maintain kitchen in sanitary and orderly condition following guidelines

  Clean up spills immediately and take out trash after shift

  Follow Bakehouse safety, storage and labeling procedures

  Advise Management of equipment repair and replacement needs

  Participate in periodic inventory counts

  Attend Bakehouse staff meetings and other assigned training requirements

  Perform any other duty as assigned by Bakehouse Management Team

  Co-op Operations, Safety and Compliance

  Requirements

  Mandatory Qualifications:

  Previous professional baking experience (1+ years)

  Ability to read and convert established recipes using standard units of measurement

  Ability and desire to work on a baking production team

  Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills

  Detail oriented and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business

  Regular, predictable attendance

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Previous cake decorating experience (1+ years)

  Previous experience with fryer usage

  Familiarity with natural foods, dietary allergies, gluten free/celiac, grocery industry or cooperatives

  Able to use forklift

  Physical Demands:

  Ability to lift/push/pull/carry 50+ pounds regularly

  Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time

  Mid-to-general range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment and operate bakehouse cooking equipment and appliances for extended periods of time

  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  Constant exposure to working in refrigerated/frozen and hot/humid environments

  Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required

  Ability to be exposed to, work with, and directly handle dietary allergies

  Ability to work safely with cooking equipment and sanitation supplies

  Salary Description
