Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, implementation and management of our cloud based infrastructure.
Collaborate with development teams and fellow infrastructure engineers to address critical issues
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to design build and maintain highly available, scalable and secure cloud based services - promoting efficiency and self-service principles
Assist in architecting, designing and implementing cloud based IaaS PaaS and SaaS solutions with a focus on platform engineering
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning configuration and deployment - empowering engineering teams
Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, monitoring and scaling
Drive efforts to enhance cloud infrastructure security including access controls, encryption and vulnerability assessments with a focus on engineering security solutions
Collaborate on continuous integration, continuous deployment CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment emphasizing engineering and self service automation
Define and maintain cloud engineering standard methodologies to ensure design and implementation consistency
Collaborate with software engineers to optimize applications for cloud deployment emphasizing performance and scalability
Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization for cost effective cloud infrastructure usage
Troubleshoot complex engineering issues provide root cause analysis and propose engineering focused solutions
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the cloud infrastructure engineering practices and security configurations
Required Skills:
Proficiency in cloud technologies' containers Kubernetes, networking security, scripting, automation and platform engineering is essential for ensuring seamless system operations
Proficiency in cloud platforms e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud with a focus on engineering standard processes
Possess deep technical capability
Strong analytical and communication skills
Exceptional problem solving ability
Minimum of 5 years of cloud engineering and design experience
Extensive experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
In depth knowledge of networking principles protocols and security standard processes for high performance solutions
Strong understanding of DevOps practices CI CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools e.g Terraform Ansible
Excellent problem solving skills effective in a fast paced collaborative environment
Proficiency in scripting and automation for efficient engineering workflows
Relevant industry certifications
