  Description

  As an AWS Security Architect/Lead, you play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing security controls to secure cloud infrastructure solutions. You are responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of cloud-based systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and efficiency. You will lead a team of AWS Security Engineers working with different AWS Security services, conducting a cloud security configuration review and assessment of client's AWS environment and implementing required controls to secure the workloads and cloud environment hosted.

  Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for architecting, deploying, configuring, and maintaining security baselines within the AWS cloud environment

  • Provides oversight over the implementation of approved security architecture/policies/procedures. Initiate and conduct project security reviews to identify cloud infrastructure security risks

  • Reviews and oversee the implementation of approved recommendations on cloud security design and implementation

  • He/she should be knowledgeable about potential vulnerabilities of virtual machines, serverless architecture and container deployment systems

  • Establish and enforce security best practices, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

  • Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to troubleshoot issues, provide technical guidance, and support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance and suggest improvements

  • Implement monitoring tools and practices to ensure system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Optimize resources based on usage patterns and demand using tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Athena

  This role is located in Sacramento, CA.

  Qualifications

  Required:

  The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the following:

  Developing and updating cloud templates, standards, and security best practices

  Cloud platforms and their services (compute, storage, networking, databases) with AWS

  Security best practices in cloud environments and familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, HIPAA) AWS Security services

  Conducting a cloud security configuration review and assessment of client's AWS environment and implementing required controls to secure the workloads and cloud environment hosted.

  Standardizing AWS Security best practices, processes, and procedures

  Providing strategic and technical leadership for teams establishing cloud infrastructure design, migrating data centers to cloud, developing infrastructure as code, or deploying cloud solutions

  Designing, and integrating marketplace leading vulnerability management, threat management, monitoring, and data protection processes and platform tools

  Building and operating automated security operations

  Designing and advising against security requirements to support cloud migration efforts

  Containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  Serverless computing and microservices architecture

  DevOps methodologies and tools

  Networking concepts and protocols

  Bachelor's degree

  Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  Preferred:

  AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  AWS Certified Security - Specialty Certification

  Strong knowledge of industry trends in security technology

  Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels of the organization

  The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 to $184,000.

  You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
