The AVP of IT Operations will lead the effective and efficient management of all ITS support services functions for the Credit Union including the Helpdesk. The role will ensure the stability and availability of information systems. The role will oversee IT Operations, collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical strategies, and be integral to our BCP/DR strategies. Responsibilities include providing strong leadership, ensuring the smooth execution of key service management processes, maintaining information security, and participating in business continuity planning. The role involves anticipating system demands, recommending upgrades, and offering strategic oversight for the design, development, and support of IT systems. Additionally, the role will forecast future skill needs, provide leadership to the IT Operations team, and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Oversee ITS support service functions for the entire Credit Union, ensuring effective and efficient operations via ServiceNow.* Manage IT Operations, including implementation schedules, timelines, and maintenance of systems to ensure stability and availability.* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical operations strategies, adopt new technologies, and plan for capacity.* Responsible for working with the all necessary CU teams and developing a proper operations model including identification, escalation, and remediation policies and procedures.* Forecast future skill needs and provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the IT Operations team.* Provide leadership and direction for strategic and tactical activities, ensuring key service management processes are effectively executed.* Work with central IT teams to anticipate system demands, recommend upgrades, and be a primary participant in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.* Provide strategic oversight for the design, development, and support of IT systems and service management.* Set the strategy, objectives, and KPIs for support services delivery operations.* Strong experience coordinating Incident Management and other key ITIL processes.* Identifies, coaches, and develops talent within the Operations workforce.* Foster a culture of commitment, continuous improvement, and learning.EDUCATION:General and business knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degreeEXPERIENCE:5-8 years of related experience; 3-5 years of leadership/management experienceSKILLS* Demonstrated progressive experience in the management of a technical support team* Experience managing service desk operations and strong knowledge of ServiceNow and ITIL* Proficient understanding of Applications Development, database architecture, and system integration* Demonstrable experience in strategic decision-making for infrastructure services* Excellent technical knowledge spanning Hosted, Public Cloud, Wintel, Network, End User Compute, Security, and Support Services* Strong leadership, planning, organizing, analytical, and problem-solving skills* Ability to interact professionally with stakeholders and lead teams through operational challenges* Self-motivated with a "can-do" attitude and quick learning capability* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex issues logicallyCOMPETENCIES* Effective knowledge* Accountability and self-management* Teamwork and leadership* Communication* Innovation and problem-solvingWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading* Ability to sit for extended time periods* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and othe standard office equipment* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objectsWelcome!
