Position Summary:
A Technician II is responsible for the safe and careful installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of various automation products at client sites both inside and outside the Oil & Gas market. A Tech II must possess a blend of technical and mechanical expertise to ensure that all installs are completed to the manufacturers and clients’ specifications. Must be able to perform duties with minimal oversight or assistance from supervisors. Must be customer facing, have a superior work ethic and demonstrate the utmost integrity in all respects. This position may serve as a Lead Technician on a service team and must be able to supervise others. Must be organized, able to meet deadlines, hardworking, and adaptable to different working environments, including working outdoors in extreme weather.
Job Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
1-3 years of experience with RTU/PLC, instrumentation, and controls.
Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprint schematics.
Valid driver’s license with a good MVR required.
Mechanical aptitude and experience, familiar working with various tools.
Previous experience in the oil and gas industry a plus.
Must be of sound physical health due to the rigors of the work.
Must be a quick learner, follow instructions, and team well with others.
Able to speak, write, and read the English language.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, install, calibrate, commission, troubleshoot, repair and generally service all company products which will include but not be limited to temperature, pressure, flow and level instruments, gas analyzers, communications devices, cameras, valves and actuators, VFDs, EV chargers RTUs and PLCs.
Perform RTU/PLC installation, troubleshooting and maintenance on multiple control platforms.
Assemble install kits, run wire, strip, clean and terminate wire into junction boxes and control cabinets. Build junction boxes and control panels.
Read P&IDs, control narratives and cause and effect statements and apply in practice.
Perform basic RTU, PLC and communication programming.
Capable of performing AGA calibrations on client locations.
Must be able to perform all the above with little to no assistance.
Must be able to work well on a team or solo and without supervision.
May serve as a Site or Crew Lead to 1 – 5 Technicians.
Comply with all corporate policies, OSHA rules and safe work procedures while carrying out all work processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
