Role Summary
Supports the automation organization, which is responsible to establish, maintain and improve the automation processes with respect to buildings, equipment and utilities. The automation manager coordinates all automation projects and initiatives. He/she provides cost-effective and efficient technical solutions, standards, strategies, and act as a competence center for automation and interface to IT or BT.
Role Responsibilities
As an Automation Manager, you are responsible for the development of general strategies for automation systems in our Site delivering highly reliable but flexible and economic solutions well adapted to our internal customer's requirements.Responsibility for having a joint strategic vision with the IT leader regarding the long term definition of the Digitalization/Automation master plan. Must be up to date in knowledge of new technologies as Historian, Predictive tools with a payback to be implemented on the site.Your responsibility includes the analysis of general developments in the automation area as well as the interpretation of compliance, data integrity and IT security aspects to optimize our concepts. You gain direct feedback through the exemplary implementation of these concepts in real plants.Furthermore, you are responsible for planning and realization of projects, concerning time, budget and quality, to ensure sustainable systems and flawless product launches.Supporting the site with regard to first-time implementation of complex concepts or in larger projects to transfer know-how and strategies belong to your further tasks.Accountable on the department's budget, as well as leading a team of automation engineers to propose and execute budget saving and energy efficiency projects.
Strategy & Organizational Development un terms of support internal and external audits, Implement technical standards, create regional / site SOPs & templates and implement sharing and leveraging of best practices and expertise in the automation areaDevelop contractual strategy and framework to manage vendors / contractors and corresponding contracts in assigned region / site. Requirements
Diploma or Master degree in automation engineering or comparable qualification3-7 years automation experienceLong-standing experience in design, planning, implementation and operations of process automation systems are requiredIn-depth experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and manufacturing IT and OT technologiesAdditional industry experience in biopharmaceutical technology as well as strong market background in a fast-growing market is natural for youIn depth knowledge of project management skills especially in resource management, activity planning and cost estimation and good understanding of compliance requirements in a cGMP EnvironmentPrevious leadership experience strongly preferred.Strong team player capable to you like to work in multi-disciplinary global teams.Fluent English with excellent communication and presentation skills as you are asked to act in an international working environment.Experience in an environment where a Production Management System is part of the role.Strong influential skills
