RESPONSIBILITIES (OPTICAL):
Perform fiber optic characterizations to document dispersion, attenuation, and loss of an end-to-end optical system
Perform physical site readiness assessments in order to ensure a site is ready for installation of optical network infrastructure
Work with customer and internal presales engineering teams to validate the low-level design documents outlining the details of the optical network installation
Create methods of procedure (MoP) documentation outlining the installation process and/or migration process of the optical networking equipment
Develop customer-specific Acceptance and Testing Procedures (ATPs) to outline the testing and validation of installed optical networks
Work with customer engineering teams to secure change windows for optical network installation or migration
Collaborate with department leaders and customer management to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs for managed services.
Successfully install optical network equipment
Perform optical test and turn up procedures
Perform operational turnover and knowledge transfer to customer network operations and engineering staff
Provide guidance and senior level support to junior members of the team.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of optical networking technologies
Work with the Network Solutions Practice team to ensure that variations to optical deployment methodologies and techniques are documented for further dissemination to the greater Professional Services team
Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes
