How will you make an impact:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting Thermo Fisher Procurmeent COE in Heredia, Costa Rica with a scope encompassing automation systems for analytics, reporting and Process Development.
What will you do:
Automate required reporting from data warehouses and data lakes.Serve as 'super user' for tools assigned, providing training, admin support such as new users/access, maintenance, process improvement, etc. Leads automation activities during process improvement phase on those projects assign to the procurement center of excellence.Designs, specifies, and supports analytical tools implementing modifications to improve operational performance and product quality.Builds and is a phenomenal partner with other Thermo Fisher COE teams to develop and promote automation standard methodologies.
How will you get here?
Advanced analytics skills required - the ability to collect/interpret data to drive procurement decisions (Excel expert, experience with Power BI and Tableau)
Experience with translational databases and coding
Experience with workflow management tools (i.e. QuickBase)
Knowledge of advanced languages like R and Python
Data engineering and BI tools' knowledge (Alteryx, Tableau, PBI)
Prove experience with Microsoft Power platform
Key skills/desired experience
Strong interpersonal and communications skills; written and oral.
User documentation review and revision experience.
Strong ability to work independently.
Comfortable leading multiple concurrent priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Data Management, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience
