Reporting to the Director, Operations, Automation Engineer role involve... Responsible for designing, testing, and optimizing automated systems in various mechanical and digital environments to help and improve processes, save costs, and achieve better outcome of design, product, and processes, eliminating defects, errors, and problems with product, process, or software development.
What a typical day looks like: Engaging with customers and addressing internal project requirements. Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency with automation Researching and designing automation technology Creating a connection between information inputs, controllers and outputs Developing tests and simulations to ensure the systems work as intended Establishing monitoring and QA processes Investigating defects or errors in the technology Managing safety systems, motor controls, drives, communication systems, and human-machine interface (HMI). The experience we're looking to add to our team: BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience. Senior background experience in automation engineering within the mechanical industry. Expertise in Bill of Materials (BoM) structuring. Strong focus on maintaining systems integrity. In-depth design knowledge. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Familiarity with Design for Excellence (DFX) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Knowledge and application of PokaYoke methodologies. Experience with the design and implementation of fixtures and gages. Proficient skills in robotic automation. Strong background in mechanical engineering.
