Marcum LLP is seeking an experienced manager to join our growing financial services and investment practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. This position requires an Assurance Manager with financial services and investment company experience (investment funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, or real estate funds experience preferred) and strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

For this role, you will obtain significant exposure to a variety of asset classes including private equity investments in portfolio companies, venture capital, infrastructure assets, real estate, long short equity, fixed income, and debt. Responsibilities:* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client management.* Coordinate the risk assessment and planning phases of audit engagements.* Review and evaluate fund internal controls and substantive workpapers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policies.* Coordinate fair value reviews with our clients and our national valuation group.* Review fund financial statements and footnotes.* Provide on-the-job training to team members.* Review significant findings with engagement management involving auditing standards and firm policies.* Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed.* Be involved in practice development and the supervision of multiple engagements.* Effectively manage employee and client expectations.* Complete performance evaluations constructively and timely, and provide ongoing performance feedback to team members.* Maintain required annual CPEs.
Qualifications:* BS or MS in Accounting.* Must be a licensed CPA.* 5-7 years of relevant audit experience in public accounting.* Ability to effectively communicate professional and technical knowledge regarding ASC 946 investment companies.* Remote candidates will be considered.
