The Atlas Operator will be a vital member of the Atlas solar innovation business, responsible for operating Atlas robot, the AI-enabled solar module installation robot developed by AES with its key industry partners. The Atlas Operator will also be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically skid steers and forklifts, within the context of solar construction projects.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated, passionate about their work, and eager to push the boundaries of what is currently achievable in the field. This mission-driven individual will be responsible for actively advancing, deploying, and executing module installations with ATLAS. This individual will assume the responsibility of operating machinery, handling materials, performing daily inspections, and collaborating closely with other team members. As an operator in the Atlas business, this position will work collaboratively across Atlas, including engineering, business leadership, and construction management, providing feedback, issues list, installation reports, and brainstorming solutions to be implemented on sites. Major Responsibilities
Safety Compliance: Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.Operate Machinery: Operate skid steer and forklift machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials as per project requirements.Solar Installation Assistance: Assist in the installation of solar panels and related equipment, ensuring all installations are done according to specifications.Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members, including engineers, business development professionals and construction workers.
Support on the development of Atlas operations plan based on project requirements within the established schedule.Work across Atlas and field construction leadership teams to build excitement and confidence around Atlas vision and objectives, and secure direct and indirect resources.Support daily installation updates and reporting to senior managers.
Qualifications

attitude with an intellectual curiosity to seek new opportunities.Certification: Must possess a valid certification to operate skid steers and forklifts from a recognized institution.Experience: Proven experience as a skid steer and forklift operator is required. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a construction environment. Foreman experience is a plus.Solar Construction Experience: Experience in solar construction is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in installing solar panels, wiring solar systems, or other related tasks will be given preference.Safety Training: Completion of safety training related to heavy machinery operation is required. This includes understanding of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and use of personal protective equipment.Skill and Behavior: Capability to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams in a fast-paced and technical business environment with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills. Results-oriented, "can-do" attitude, and "get things done" mentality; comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity; no compromise on attention to quality and details.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues with machinery and make quick decisions on field.
