Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Private Equity Partners ('PEP') is the private equity solutions group at BlackRock. Private Equity Partners has offices in Princeton NJ, New York, London, Zurich, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with total AUM of approximately $47 billion across a range of commingled funds and separate accounts. This open role is within the Private Equity Partners' Investor Relations team in APAC.
Role Overview:
BlackRock Private Equity Partners is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in working in a fast-paced, fluid environment as a member of a closely knit team. The role will include supporting PEP's Asia Investor Relations team in client-facing activities with a focus on servicing North-Asia based clients. The candidate will be responsible for the entire fundraising cycle including developing marketing and proposal materials, and eventually servicing a broad array of clients from large institutions to high net worth individuals in Japan (~50% of the time) as well as South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (~50% of the time). The role requires developing a broad understanding of Private Equity Partners' business and investments while also paying attention to detail in day-to-day action items and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in general client service activities including:
Answering LP inquiriesEditing and reviewing RFPsAssisting in annual LP event planningPreparing and, over time, conducting client portfolio reviews Implement quarterly performance updates across marketing materials, including:
Client / product presentationsFact sheetsTeam-related materialsPerformance data analysis and benchmarkingReview quarterly data packs for accuracy and formattingSupport market research and provide updates in presentations and quarterly investment reportsSupport fundraising activitiesTrack and distribute offering materialsHelp organize road shows across client channelsHelp prepare customized presentationsWork closely with senior IR professionals to ensure meeting follow-ups are completedAssist with special projects
Requirements:
4+ years of related experience within the Financial Services industry.Bachelor's degree; MBA a plusAbility to speak and write Japanese fluently in business settingsPersuasive and polished written and oral communication skills in EnglishAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentProven team player with strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrates entrepreneurial spirit and is willing to assume additional responsibilitiesFull proficiency in PowerPoint, strong Excel skillsThe ideal candidate has a strong interest in the private equity market as well as an understanding of the private placement and fundraising process with institutions and individual investors. The candidate has to be detail oriented, mature and professional. He / she should be deadline driven, accurate and able to handle confidential information with the utmost respect.An ability to appropriately prioritize is crucial.The ideal candidate should be self-directed and feel comfortable asking questions and taking the initiative to get projects completed accurately and on time.A strong client service focus is important as this position will communicate directly with sales teams, consultants and clients, in person, via phone and email on a regular basis.
