About Associate, WM Risk (Risk Management)

  Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.

  Wealth Management (WM) provides a comprehensive array of financial services and solutions to individual investors and small to medium-sized businesses and institutions covering: brokerage and investment advisory services; financial and wealth planning services; stock plan administration services; annuity and insurance products; securities-based lending, residential real estate loans and other lending products; banking; and retirement plan services.

  Background on the Position

  This Associate role is part of the U.S. Banks Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function and will focus on monitoring compliance with the U.S. Banks Issues Management Framework.

  Primary Responsibilities- Assist with the execution of key controls to monitor compliance with the U.S. Banks Issues Management Framework, involves reach outs to stakeholders across first and second lines of defense- Maintenance of desktop procedures and Banks' Issues Management Jive site- Support Issues Management reporting for management including updates on regulatory remediation- Perform data analysis to propose enhancements to the Issues Management Framework- Ad hoc requests to assist Enterprise Risk VP in timely completion of deliverables

  Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in Business, Finance, or similar- 4 years of experience in the Financial Services industry (Control, Regulatory, Risk, Compliance, or Internal Audit background preferred)- Proficient in Microsoft Excel including formulas, functions, and pivot tables- Skilled in designing informative PowerPoint presentations for a senior audience- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively and establish trust with stakeholders across the business- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail- Self-starter, ability to work independently and bring tasks to completion- Ability to excel in a fast-paced changing environment and manage competing deadlines- Excellent oral and written communication skills

  Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
