We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate Vice President of Actuarial and Underwriting Pricing to join our team. In this high impact role, you will be responsible for leading and providing strategic actuarial and underwriting services across our Group Medicare line of business. This individual will be responsible in making data driven decisions to manage risk, set competitive pricing, and develop strategic initiatives. Lead 38 associates,
Responsibilities
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of actuarial policies and procedures for the Group Medicare line of business
Collaborate with cross functional teams, including the Group Medicare P&L, finance, operations, HQRI, STARS, Trend, Individual Medicare Actuaries, and Senior Leaders to optimize profitability and growth as we renew and expand our Group Medicare business.
Develop the pricing and rate setting processes for Group Medicare products, ensuring compliance with CMS federal products
Utilize predictive modeling and other statistical techniques to forecast business performance and manage risk
Represent the company in external meetings with regulators, consultants, brokers, groups, auditors, and other stakeholders
Cultivates and maintains a broad network of collaborative relationships across the enterprise, allowing quick navigation to get information, guidance, or to clear the path for new initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and their business implications to a nontechnical audience.
Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to bridge the strategic vision with the tactical delivery and drive consensus accordingly.
Quickly assimilates new information and grasps new concepts; strong financial acumen and knowledge of the business.
Record of successful cross-functional collaboration on complex initiatives.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or similar actuarial designation
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in actuarial roles, with a focus on healthcare or Medicaid
Strong understanding of Group Medicare and the healthcare market
Expertise in statistical analytics, predictive modeling, and risk management
Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
8+ years of management experience
Outstanding collaboration, solid influencing, problem solving, and negotiation skills
Experience leading through influence in a large, matrixed, global environment
Proven history of effective working relationships with leaders and key business partners to drive change agendas
Prior experience working with Underwriting team and collaborating on key assumptions in pricing multiple years of premiums.
