The Team
The Japan Equities Research Team focuses on producing high quality and insightful research on listed companies and industry sectors in Japan, as well as on global thematic trends impacting sectors under coverage. The team looks to build long-term relationships with, and provide research and analysis to, regional and global institutional investment firms, listed and unlisted companies and key industry players.
The Role
An opportunity exists for an Associate or Vice President level Research Analyst to join our dynamic Japan Research team, covering stocks within the Machinery sector. This role is based in Tokyo and is an opportunity to accelerate your career with a fast-paced working environment in sell-side equities research at one of the leading global equity research houses.
Responsibilities
Role involves supporting the coverage of factory automation and construction related stocksWill see you collaborate with the lead analyst to create thought-provoking research, working "end-to-end" from idea generation through to finished research productWill see you collaborate with overseas teams, to generate global thematic reportsWill involve you managing company models including forecasts, developing key assumptions in earnings estimates in collaboration with the lead analystWill see you engaging yourself with management and investor relation teamsScope to create a range of dedicated client relationships for yourself to market the research product to
Preferred Background
Excellent academic record with an Undergraduate degree in Actuarial, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field3-5 years' relevant financial analyst experience; for a candidate looking to step up into a more responsible and empowered roleDemonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player to meet tight deadlines to consistently high standards, attention to detail, with a high level of initiative, ownership, and motivationStrong communication skills; written, oral, and numeric.Strong skills in data management and data analysis background are advantageousFluency in Japanese is required for the role.Fluency in English is not required, but the candidate must be proficient in English
