Summarized Purpose:
Manages the coordination of import and export supply chain for moderate complex local or global clinical trials. Ensures activities are in compliance with company and client requirements. May act as an in country local representative and project lead for the department on less complex projects.
Essential Functions:
• Develops study-specific import/export trade compliance plans for each assigned project.
• Meets with internal teams to coordinate efforts, provide recommendations and risks related to import/export project activities and provide import export project reports/spreadsheets.
• Ensures fluent communication and interaction between internal departments to avoid obstacles during the course of the study.
• Integrates import & export and trade compliance activities into the supply chain to support project logistic strategy and compliance with local laws and customs regulations.
• Participates in ongoing training on new regulations
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and reelevant formal academic/vocational qualificationPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job ( comparable to 2+years).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good understanding of import/export operations, planning, and developmentGood understanding of clinical supply operations, including facility maintenance and certification, manufacturing, packaging, labeling and auditing, inventory planning and storage, distribution and delivery planning, returns and reconciliation planning, destruction scheduling, authorization and tracking, and vendor management (depots, waste disposal sites, customs brokers, internationalforwarders and couriers)Good understanding of local and global regulations, including international trade agreementsStrong interpersonal, planning, organizational, problem-solving, sense of urgency, and decision-making skillsStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suiteStrong focus on customers and attention to detailAbility to work in a team environment, as well as work independently with moderate guidanceBasic understanding of clinical supply operation
