DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Associate Toxicologist, you will help to identify environmental chemical exposures of concern, and assess the potential harmful effects they post to public health. Your duties will include:Reviewing and analyzing environmental data from various media, such as air, water, soil, and sediments, to determine if there are pathways for human exposure and if any of the chemicals would be considered contaminants of concern,Conducting toxicological evaluation of contaminants of concern, which includes reviewing authoritative and non-authoritative sources of toxicity information, and summarizing information for future weight of evidence analysis,Reading literature of toxicology studies and systematic reviews for chemicals of interest to environmental health, especially emerging contaminants of concern,Preparing drafts and memoranda to summarize and critique toxicology studies, health or risk assessments, and available data,Utilizing software and analysis platforms to review environmental and epidemiological data with appropriate statistical methodology, andReceiving and investigating inquiries from the public regarding environmental health concerns to propose future assessments and identify data gaps, and providing investigation summaries to senior toxicologists to determine the next steps.Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework).
