This position involves 24 / 7 real time threat monitoring, analyzing, and responding to physical security incidents on a global scale for Charles Schwab’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). Responsibilities also include managing security systems, analyzing threats, risk mitigation, monitoring and responding to weather events and natural disasters, as well as collaborating with other teams and business units to ensure the overall safety of employees and the organization. The primary location for the position will be at Charles Schwab’s Omaha, NE or Lone Tree, CO facility. As a member of the GSOC and Corporate Security Team, the Security Associate will pro-actively take actions in accordance with established processes and procedures to handle both normal course of business activities and critical events, including escalation to key parties of the Corporate Security Team and other business units within the organization. Functions include utilizing a variety of tools that can range from access control and alarm monitoring systems to various intelligence sources, open-source media, internet, and in-house tools to respond and alert personnel and the business of physical security incidents, events and adverse conditions that may affect clients, employees, facilities, and/or business operations. Additional functions include monitoring and supporting security operations at all of Charles Schwab corporate and branch locations, as well as generating appropriate reports to safeguard employees and assets. Additionally, GSOC Security Associate will follow the written plans and directives provided by Security Management. Security Associate will be required to complete on-the-job training to complete their tasks.
What you have
Strong industry and functional knowledge including Security Alarm Systems and Operations Center Operations.
Advanced communication skills (written and verbal) in English with the ability to effectively communicate with persons who may or may not speak English as their primary language.
Must have the ability to work under less than direct supervision; Security Associates will be required to complete on-the-job training to complete their tasks.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate and re-direct telephone conversations to quickly identify and take action to resolve emergencies.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
2 Year College Degree in Security, Loss Prevention or Safety preferred.
Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements.
What you'll do:
The function of this position is to conduct 24 / 7 security operations for the Corporate Security Team’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) at Charles Schwab’s Omaha, NE Facility.
The Security Associates will monitor and support security operations at all Charles Schwab’s Corporate and Branch Facilities.
Security Associates will follow the written plans and directives provided by Security Management.
Ability to perform work in stressful situations.

Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess real-time intelligence feeds to provide intelligence to assist Corporate Security in mitigating risk to employees and company assets.
Monitor real time weather and news feeds to determine impact on employees and property, and provide notifications as needed.
Monitor real time travel and news feeds to determine impact on employee travel, and provide notifications as needed.
Create and disseminate accurate and professionally written reports to multiple groups and individual across the firm.
Work cooperatively with others on a team as well as develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships inside and outside of the GSOC.
Investigate branch alarms and escalate to Security Management as required.
Troubleshoot alarm communication and equipment issues and submit workorders as needed.
Provide emergency and/or ENS notifications as directed and when appropriate.
Anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for contingencies.
Provide and promote outstanding customer service to all clients.
Make common sense decisions and exercise action during high tension and stressful situations.
Evaluate global incidents that may impact employees or offices and escalate accordingly to security management and subsequently to other business units within the company.
Communicates and disseminates information, using established communication vehicles, to key partners using best practices.
Provide situational awareness of issues occurring throughout the region and at elevated level globally, through internet observation, news media reporting and establish intergroup communication with other support elements.
As part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), provide initial notification to the larger ERT Groups as required.
Monitor and investigate all 9-1-1 calls at Corporate and Branch facilities and escalate to Security Management as required.
Monitor Enterprise Access Control, CCTV Surveillance Camera System and alarms at facilities.
Verify badge access, restricted access, and disable associate badges upon separation.
Monitor cameras and download camera footage for investigations and review by Security Management.
