The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock's index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and cutting-edge alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS handles over $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London, Asia Pacific region, and a growing team in Budapest.

Role Overview
The MASS team based in Budapest is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual with a proven technical background to support our growing Portfolio Management technology platform. As a technologist, you will be using Python and other tools as part of an agile environment to implement automation and visualization projects. The solutions created are to be integrated in the global team's core Python library and form part of a unified platform which facilitates daily operations, serving a user base of 50+ portfolio managers. Along with the key responsibilities outlined below, the individual will also have the opportunity to get involved in broader MASS team initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
You will be working with the global portfolio management team to enhance the technology and analytical tools available to portfolio managers to drive scale, platform and process improvements, and enhanced investment controls.
Develop infrastructure/platform to facilitate access to automation for citizen coders:
Implement process improvement solutions for the MASS PM tech team such as automating test reports, exceptions reports, permission monitoring and other key processesMaintain PM environment and core library to remain up to date with system product upgrades and ensure stable connectionsWork with BlackRock's wider tech platform and Aladdin engineering teams to integrate new developments and data via APIs and SQL queriesFormalise the build, release, and deployment process of Python-based applications and algorithms.Expand the wider global team's technical knowledge via training and documentationWork with the wider team of portfolio managers; maintain close connections with partner technology teams.
Lead on technology/automation projects:
Collaborate in the development through an Azure DevOps repo of a library of portfolio management functions in python according to the coding standard established internally. Perform code review and design/run of UAT testing.Participate in process automation projects as a python developer. This may take shape as either covering a single, larger-scale project, or several smaller, short assignments.Support development of broader portfolio management workflow and tools and the ability to interact with these via Python codeCreate and maintain visualization solutions using Tableau and Power BI
Key Responsibilities
Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science or B. TechnologyDeep interest and affinity in applying technology to solve problems; enjoy solving technical challenges and writing efficient codeGood interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels and solid attention to detailProficiency in Python or other coding languages is a requirement for this role, Sophisticated coding skills such as object-oriented coding techniques strongly preferred.Good communication and analytical skills with an ability to synthesize information and summarize issues in order to efficiently work across different teams and platforms.Experience accessing and visualizing structured data sets using tools such as Tableau or PowerBI, highly desired
