Position Title:
Associate Program Director HEOP

Job Responsibilities:
Programming
Oversee and execute the HEOP tutoring program, including recruiting, hiring, training and supervising around 35 tutors each fall and spring terms, budget and expenses, assessment and reporting for RIT and NYSED.
Oversee the HEOP Freshmen Study Hours, including hiring student proctors, scheduling, weekly communications and follow-up with freshmen students.
Student Support
Provide student development-based comprehensive academic, financial, and personal counseling to assigned caseload to maximize student potential for successful persistence and graduation.
Provide referrals to campus resources and advocate for students’ needs with various RIT offices.
Input counseling type and time for NYSED reporting.
Serve as a conduct advocate for students facing hearings.
Department Support
Collaborate with HEOP professional staff to interview all eligible candidates for HEOP admissions. Provide professionally informed feedback to identify most promising candidates.
Assist with planning and execution of academic year program workshops and activities.
Actively participate in department meetings. Exhibit tact, diplomacy and a positive attitude to build on team strengths.
Professional Development and Service
Represent HEOP on division and institute committees, lead or assist with program activities/events, and other duties as assigned.
Pursue professional development as related to leadership, diversity, student learning and development, and academic support and success.

Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in overseeing and/or coordinating college student success initiatives, especially for underrepresented students.
Familiarity with grant-supported college programs.
At least three years’ experience with college counseling.
Competencies:
Familiarity with college student development theories and academic success strategies.
Experience with learning management systems such as myCourses, student information systems such as PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite, and assessment software programs such as Qualtrics.
The candidate must take initiative, have excellent communication skills, work effectively on teams, exhibit tact, calm and diplomacy in an inclusive environment, and be open-minded, positive and willing to adjust in the face of change.
Organization, professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to document and follow-up promptly in a fast-paced environment is a requirement.
Knowledge of student support services, including academic advising, counseling, mentoring, financial aid and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred degree in higher education administration, educational leadership, or college counseling.
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Job Summary:
The Division of Diversity and Inclusion is seeking candidates for an Associate Program Director position with the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). This is a grant funded position.
The Associate Director will be responsible in assisting the HEOP director with administrative aspects of the HEOP grant, including budgeting, reporting, grant writing, assessment, and day-to-day operations that support recruitment, retention and graduation of HEOP students.
