The Associate Patient Care Coordinator receives direction from Clinic Operations Management. The Associate Patient Care Coordinator works cooperatively with all members of the care team and supports the vision of the Positive Patient Experience (PPE). Ensures all patients are greeted and checked in following standard work, verifying demographics, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and enter charges. Assists patients and ensures that their experience is a positive one. Answers telephone call and routes them appropriately and resolves moderately complex issues.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Rotating on a volunteer basis Monday and Thursday extended hours to 7:00 pm. This is a 40-hour work week.

Primary Responsibilities:
Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality and care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures
Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
Accurately and professionally handling all front desk operations including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling of all appointments, balancing daily collections, addressing routine inquiries, and forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate personnel
Assists with the inventory and maintenance of business office supplies and the completion of business office reports
Works daily reports, incomplete encounters, No Show reports, and other designated administrative reports according to office procedures
Intake and Registration of Patients
Phone and task support role for providers
Allscripts PM New Patient Registration
Patient Portal Management
Performs clerical duties as directed
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
6+ months of healthcare or customer service experience
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel 10% of the time to other offices for coverage as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of related work experience including data entry
Bilingual Spanish and English
ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
Previous call center experience using a softphone
Prior experience with EMR computer applications
Working knowledge of medical terminology
