In our office in Amstelveen we are currently looking for an Associate Manager Statutory and Tax to join us and our finance government reporting group!

What Your Impact Will Be:
In this position you will be responsible for managing statutory audits, the timely and accurate periodic submissions of various declarations in accordance with local government legislation and submissions of annual financial statements in accordance with (local) GAAP
The role falls within a team that is responsible for 15 statutory entities spanning the Netherlands, Belgium, Cyprus, Singapore and a French holding company.
You will be reporting into the Senior Manager Statutory and Tax. You will manage outsourced teams in Malaysia that you will be responsible for reviewing and guiding their work.
Purpose of Position & Primary Responsibilities:
Managing the preparation and reporting of Management, Statutory & Governmental reporting requirements for Mattel’s Netherlands ,Belgian, Cyprus and Singaporean entities:Corporate Income Tax (Direct and indirect tax declarations, tax calculations, tax reporting)Managing statutory auditsPreparation of Annual Financial statementsReview of VAT, Intra-stat and ESL declarations prepared by external partiesEnvironmental Reporting; WEEE, Waste Packaging, Batteries, etc. Provide input to management for decision making for VAT, CIT, financials and supporting ad hoc requests,Month end responsibility to review balance sheet of responsible entities as well as review of balance sheet reconciliations,Providing support in managing Mattel’s complex tax structure, advising Corporate Tax SVP on changes/improvements, executing Corporate HQ decisions,Liaising with Global Tax, Accounting and Treasury on complex entries impacting dividends and equityReview and coordinate transfer pricing studies & ATAD reporting for all responsible entities,Managing internal and external Audit engagements,Coaching and managing external (outsourced) teams,Relationship Management with Internal and external stake holders; tax and custom departments, Corp. controller’s office, shared service center, tax and legal advisors, audit firms, and various other governmental bodies,End responsible for Inventory Accounting management across Europe, including approval of journal entries, review of inventory accounts in balance sheet,Performing both internal and external Business Controls; Month End closing Sox Controls as an example,Participation in ad-hoc projects on tax and entity rationalization Qualifications What We’re Looking For: ·
Education and Experience:
CPA or Dutch equivalent ( RA) ,Hands on manager (important!!)Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Accounting and/or Tax,Prior experience managing statutory audits,Good understanding of US + Dutch GAAP,Prior experience working as part of a local and international team Experience on working with a global ERP system; e.g. Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.Not essential but a plus:Working knowledge of VAT, Intra-stat and ESL declarations.Knowledge of Inventory Accounting; Standard Costing, Profit in Inventory, Price Variances, etc.Experience using Hyperion/HFM for consolidated reportingManaging outsourced/remote team membersSkills required:
Fluent English and Dutch both spoken and written ( Mattel working language is English, however reading correspondence and being able to have a conversation with the Dutch and Belgian authorities is required)Excellent MS excel skills, and MS access skills are beneficial,Excellent telephone manner,Influencing skills,Strong problem-solving skills,Confident to recommend innovative solutions,Strong organizational skills / ability to prioritize / meet deadlines, Additional Information What It’s Like to Work Here:
