Position Summary
As the R&D Associate Manager on the Energizer Battery R&D Team, you will lead a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians to develop and implement product improvements key to maintaining our industry leading position. The position is based at our Energizer R&D facility in Westlake, OH.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers and scientists to develop and implement product performance improvements that meet time, cost, and performance objectives
Support surety of supply strategy and projects
Investigate concepts for battery performance, reliability, and cost improvement to influence R&D strategy and product cost roadmaps
Interact with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, operations, legal, and external third parties as needed to reach objectives
Provide project leadership, from conception to launch, and communicate updates across cross-functional teams and to senior leadership
Refine internal processes and ways of working to optimize effectiveness and efficiency
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
Mentor team members and possible successors
What we are looking for
4+ years of experience in R&D or equivalent setting with a track record of product improvement
Bachelors in Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or relevant scientific discipline
Ability to comprehend business objectives and work independently to solve problems in the most efficient manner possible
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
What we prefer
Experience managing engineers and/or technicians directly or indirectly
Experience in battery systems or other related consumer goods products
Stage gate protocol, design for Six Sigma, statistics and design of experiments
Project management experience
