The Team:
The Licensing Operations team manages all global licensing activities for royalties, invoicing, collections, contract administration and system support. We manage for all Lines of Business including Content, CP, Live Events and Gaming. This is a new group that is growing to better support Mattel’s long-term strategy to exploit its library of IP. Job Description
The Opportunity:
Mattel is currently seeking an Associate Manager Licensing Operations to join our team in El Segundo. The position will be a member of a dynamic team, reporting to Manager, Licensing Operations focused on managing and overseeing the contract administration and financial operations for our Content business.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Review complex Content contracts and interpret terms including rights and complex payment structures to licensing systemOversee that team has access to all third-party portals and document procedures for processing invoices and royaltiesDevelop clear processes and implement with Content team and offshore processing teamPartner with Commercial and Legal teams, leading meetings when appropriate for query resolutionManage Mattel’s risk of bad debt and complete write off activities when applicableNegotiate and approve payment plan agreements with internal and external stakeholdersPartner with Cash-Applications teams to ensure multi-currency cash receipts offset accurately including deductions of WHT expenses and/or bank charges/on account cash kept to a minimumCalculate and provide Inter-Company cash application instructions when cash received to be split between different Mattel Divisions Provide ongoing support to internal teams by troubleshooting issues, identifying and implementing long-term solutions, and short-term resolutions if necessaryBuild reports to support business needsManage workload using Helpdesk tool Manage Projects including:Training Licensees on loading statements to Extranet toolCollate and validate data to be used to implement and enhance system tools available to improve processesClean up of old uncollectible AR/on account cashMapping Content Titles on Mattel’s systems to match reporting downloaded from 3rd party platforms Qualifications What We’re Looking For:

5+ years of business or finance-related experience, working in a commercial organization within the finance departmentExperience with Content/Entertainment business preferredExperience working in a fast-paced environment with focus on detail-orientated work while managing conflicting prioritiesExperience analyzing and manipulating complex, raw data in Excel to build reportingUnderstanding of administrative and accounting Billing and Collections processes (related to licensing is advantageous but not essential)Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves. The annual base salary range for this position is between $98,000 and $123,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
