The Team
Consumer Products organization are responsible for providing direction for the development and implementation of the licensing strategy for the Mattel brands, finding opportunities to grow our brands beyond the core toy spaces they are rooted in. You’ll be joining the EMEA Consumer Products team as Associate Manager Consumer Products for the Nordics & Benelux. Based out of our Amstelveen office however with a flexible hybrid home/office working as part of a team of 3, you’ll report directly to the Head of Nordics and Benelux
Job Description
The Opportunity
You will manage the day-to-day licensing business relationships in the Nordics & Benelux covering all HL & Publishing partners at a local level – delivering all aspects of partner management, whilst driving EMEA Top partners. You will identify pitch and negotiate new business opportunities, and day to day liaison with internal & external stakeholders. You will lead BENONE HL retail strategy and build relationships and programs with leading BENONE retailers. Category leading and supporting for assigned categories, for the BENONE & EMEA.
Categories include, but not limited to Toys, Sporting, Greetings, FMCG, Promotional, Puzzles & Publishing. You will manage the forecasting process for the HL and Publishing business as well as long range plans.
What Your Impact Will Be:
BENONE LICENSEE MANAGEMENT:
Manage all existing HL, FMCG & Publishing licensing deals, including master toy and licensee relationshipsContribute to the BENONE CP strategy, supporting Head of Nordics & BeneluxOwn BENONE Retail strategy for HL and drive these relationships with CP programs. Work with Mattel retail team to deliver best in class programs.Deliver detailed JBP per BENONE partner that includes forecast, budget, stretch targets, retail & marketing calendars and market relevant product line plans by country. Drive EMEA HL Top partners in the BENONE, as per EMEA HL & Publishing StrategyPitch and marketing presentations across Mattel’s IP portfolio of brandsManage extension of local deals into additional EMEA countriesConduct bi-weekly 121 meetings, arrange quarterly business reviews, bi-annual top to tops and track financial goals through forecasting and ambitious sales targetsDeliver and ensure detailed joint BENONE marketing plan (per top country) per partner that includes licensee investment that is aligned with Mattel CP goals. Ensure marketing support for top items.Be Internal Point person for each licensee to ensure local markets are driving the strategy and goals for partners NEW BUSINESS:
Research, identify and pitch new category opportunities and prospective clientsSecure new licensing deals and negotiate renewalsAttend Trade Fairs or category specific shows STRATEGY:
Support EMEA HL & Publishing Category Leads on key strategy for regionAnalyze the market with SWOT, Gaps, opportunities, category prioritiesResearch, identify and pitch new category opportunities and prospective clientsKeep current with changing trends & competitionWork closely with the Product Development, Creative and Quality & Assurance teams on getting first class product to marketWork closely with Retail Development, Digital, PR, Regional Franchise and Local Brand teams to develop joint business plans.Implement marketing and promotional strategies in liaison with internal & external stakeholdersGather and share category best practice from across the EMEA region with local teamsHelp find innovative ways to grow the businessManage extension of local deals into additional EMEA countriesGather and share category best practice from across the EMEA region with local teamsPrepare brand pitch and marketing presentations across Mattel’s IP portfolio of brands Qualifications What We’re Looking For:
