We are looking for you to join our team as an Associate Liaison Engineer (Part & Material) or Liaison Engineer (Part & Material) based out of either McClellan, CA in the Sacramento area, or San Jose, CA. What You'll get to Do:
Analyze engineering specifications and drawings in the selection and qualification of electronic, electric, and electromechanical components/assemblies to ensure they meet product specifications and are reliable, effective, and sustainable. Support the Engineering team in PM&P (Parts Material and Processes) technical execution and analysis to support the next generation Ground Based Strategic Deterrence system. In addition, work on preliminary plans and execute PMMP (Part and Material Management Plan) in accordance with established processes to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency objectives for product longevity. Component Engineering is a key driver to creating a sustainable system with qualified parts. In addition, you may also get to: Review engineering part selection for qualification alignment to MIL-STD 11991ARecommend and assist in selecting sources of supply and develops alternate sources of supplyPerform part management activities in alignment with PM&P Management PlanEnsure existing and new part numbers and descriptions are correct and crossed with manufacturers' part numbers.Review and analyze assigned components for design ensuring life cycle status and qualification requirementsBecome familiar in material processes, lead-free control plans, and hexavalent chromium management/mitigation strategies, according to program requirementsParticipate in counterfeit parts prevention as derived from SD-22, SAE-5553, and DFARS requirements.Become familiar with and utilize PAPL (Program Approved Parts List) and AVL (Approved Vendor Lists)Participate in process improvement recommendations to streamline part selection and review processPrepare materials for and supports the various programs and technical meetings Utilize your communications skills and work with little direct supervision This position may be filled as n Associate Liaison Engineer (Part & Material) or Liaison Engineer (Part & Material).
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Liaison Engineer (Part & Material) : Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science with 6 months+ experience An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's of Science Degree Experience working in teams within an Agile framework (Kanban, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint) Familiarity in researching specification and attributes of electronic and/or mechanical components Must be a U.S. Citizen Clearance : Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Basic Qualifications for a Liaison Engineer (Part & Material) : Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science with 2 years experience; Master of Science (MS) degree in science with 0 years experience An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's of Science Degree Experience working in teams within an Agile framework (Kanban, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint) Familiarity in researching specification and attributes of electronic and/or mechanical components Must be a U.S. Citizen Clearance : Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Preferred Qualifications: 2 years working with SD-19, SD-22, and MIL STD 11991A2 years usiIHS Part Intelligence, GIDEP, Part Finder or equivalent2 years working Knowledge of FRACAS and reliability engineering a plus.2 years using DLA ASSIST and/or DLA Qualified Products Database (QPD/QPL)2 year working with CPLM, Teamcenter PLM2 years knowledge of DFARS requirements for counterfeit components.Salary Range: $59,600 - $89,400
Salary Range 2: $72,100 - $108,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
