USA Job Family Description: Opportunity to execute and manage a multi-billion dollar Leveraged Finance portfolio. The candidate will work closely with Corporate and Sponsor coverage teams, and risk management. The position requires a self-starter who is able to take initiative to guide deals independently.
USA Job Function Description: Candidates will join Santander's investment team for a role to underwrite and manage a portfolio of Leveraged Lending names. The candidate will work as part of a team underwriting opportunities for Corporate and Sponsored transactions. The individual will be taking a leading role in underwriting and presenting potential transactions to credit committee, while managing a portfolio.
Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:
Works as part of a deal team on underwriting new financing opportunities, which includes obtaining internal credit approval and managing the loan documentation and closing process.Manages a portfolio of credits and be responsible for monitoring client performance and adhering to credit policy and risk management requirements.Performs initial transaction due diligence, credit research, enterprise value analysis, preparation of pre-screens and final credit approvals for new financing opportunities.Participate in ad-hoc projects, reviewing and negotiating loan agreement documents, loan closing and funding, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.Work with Head of U&PM in developing and implementing policies.Identify, measure, control, monitor and report all risks that are originated through activities such as business origination, providing specialist advice, the development, marketing or distribution of products, client maintenance, or operational or technological processes supporting
customer activity.Evaluating risk factors and negotiating transactions on behalf of clients

Education:
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree and/or work experience, in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Work Experience:
3-5+ years of experience with Leveraged Cash Flow underwriting/portfolio management.
Skills and Abilities:
Financial statement analysis, financial modeling and valuationPreparing and delivering presentations to management and peersAbility to collaborate effectively in cross functional team environment and leading cross-functional teamsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to integrate multiple perspectives and champion diverse points of viewAdvanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit, due diligence analyticalPossess a high level of initiative and capability to work independently on financings and other responsibilities.Existing knowledge of leveraged loan market a plusStrong PC Proficiency, Microsoft Office applications, and Credit Research Tools Excellent verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of bank regulation and compliance

For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $108,000-$135,125. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
