The Associate General Counsel is responsible for performing a wide variety of legal and regulatory activities on behalf of Healthfirst, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
Hybrid Work Schedule:
Candidates must be open to working a hybrid work schedule consisting of reporting to our 100 Church Street, NYC office 3 days a week.Scope of Responsibilities:
Maintains familiarity with requirements of law and regulation affecting the operation of a managed care company.
Provides legal support to business and strategic initiatives and answers inquiries from staff regarding legal issues.
Performs legal tasks of a varying nature which are attendant to the operation of a non-profit managed care company, including but not limited, to the preparation and negotiation of provider, procurement, and other contracts, the interpretation and dissemination of new legal requirements, and obtaining approval from the New York State Departments of Health and Insurance for contracts and other actions.
Minimum Qualifications:
J.D. degree
2-4 years prior experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Health care regulatory experience (New York experience strongly preferred).
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to staff and management colleagues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; acute attention to detail.
Strong proficiency utilizing MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of general law and operations for corporate entity.
Understanding of litigation and/or employment law.
License/Certification:

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $150,800 - $230,690
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $124,400 - $190,315
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
