In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position
Plan & implement actions to achieve the Novo Nordisk environmental strategy.
Relationships
Reports to Manager, EHS.
Essential Functions
Develop KPI’s for emissions & waste processes
Map & analyze emissions & waste processes
Develop mapping, analyses, & reporting tools
Develop multi-year & near-term plans
Develop & implement solutions to reduce or manage emissions & wastes
Lead cross-functional teams
Develop & deliver reports & presentations
Support environmental management reviews
Manage vendors & contracts
Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12 hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.
Qualifications
Education:
BA/BS degree in Engineering, Science, or applicable technical degree & proven equivalent relevant work experience required
Minimum of one (1) year experience in pharmaceutical or health care environment preferred
Knowledgeable in EPA, NC DEQ, & OSHA regulations is a plus
Ability to read, write & understand complex technical documentation preferred
Demonstrated leadership & project management skills:
Two-way communication skills with customers (internal/external), project team & management; interpersonal & team building skills; achievement of project timelines & customer requirements preferred
Ability to write technical documentation preferred
Experience in mapping & analyzing processes preferred
Experience with solution implementation in a pharmaceutical manufacturing firm preferred
Demonstrated problem solving skills preferred
Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred. Knowledgeable in GMP concepts preferred
Knowledge of standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts preferred
Organization/Planning:
Ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines & prioritize properly based on process needs. Demonstrated strong skills in change management within Novo Nordisk preferred
Leadership:
Influences by developing strong working relationships. Demonstrates positive attitude & willingness/aptitude to lead others is a plus
