Looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Central Engineering division to support substation projects across Bronx and Westchester territories. This role requires specific experience in the engineering and application of power systems, substations, and/or transmission facilities, with an understanding of the technical principles/practices that are associated with electrical utility systems.
Responsibilities include, evaluating project requirements, preparing scope of work, design criteria, and construction packages, providing authorization on funding requests and engineering specifications, project coordination with end users and construction to support both off and on field, monitoring/reporting project status, addressing safety/environmental constraints, and preparing equipment. You will work cross functionally with departments for the testing and maintenance of field equipment installations and provide technical assistance as required, as well as support externally to review and accept manufacturer's proposals and drawings. Must ensure safety procedures and goals are incorporated into the project designs, as well as EH&S checklist created for project installation packages. This role requires excellent customer service and ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Skills and Requirements
2+ years experience in electrical engineering with knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or operation of power systems, high voltage substations, distribution or transmission systems
Experience in application and development of technical principles and practices associated with Electrical Utility systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Knowledgeable in basic engineering design and principles, as well as system planning and electrical analysis
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels
Valid Driver's license
Comfortable onsite 3 days/week in NYC Master's Degree in Engineering
Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments
Professional Engineer license null
