Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Data & Analytics supports the analytic needs of University Communications (UCOMM) through consistent reporting, insights, and collaborative measurement planning. This position will be responsible for evaluating, recommending, and hypothesizing solutions for enrollment and media/content performance. A primary function will be using data to address questions and present findings that are clear and digestible to provide directional guidance for all UCOMM units. This person should feel comfortable synthesizing data from numerous sources, using data to tell or support a narrative, exploring trends, and identifying issues the data might be flagging. The Associate Director of Data & Analytics will be expected to lead our department's data culture, bringing each person along on what the data is showing and building what's needed to provide data access to everyone.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in data science, business analytics or related field.
Two years of relevant experience or Master's degree.
Proven data analysis and presentation skills.
Data visualization experience.
Strong understanding of common marketing metrics and the application thereof in driving actionable insights.
Experience working with a web analytics platform such as Google Analytics.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationship and work effectively as a collaborative team.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills to plan, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Google analytics and Google Data Studio certified.
Google Ads, Google Ad Manager.
Hub Spot's Inbound Certification.
Hub Spot's Social Media Marketing Certification.
Facebook Blueprint.
SemRush Digital Marketing Certifications (multiple certifications including SEO---keyword research, mobile SEO, and local SEO---content marketing, pay per click, social media marketing).
YouTube Creator Academy Certification.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and related systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Runs monthly web analytics reports and provides insights on site analytics.
Provides analytical leadership in cross-channel measurements, providing clear and actionable insights.
Evaluates and determines need for new technologies for site health and/or analytics.
Oversees administration of Google Tag Manager, GA4, Sitefinity Insight, MS Clarity, Data Studio, Power BI, etc.
Assimilates data from multiple sources for the development, evaluation, and optimization of marketing and advertising strategies. Executes, manages, and delivers best-in-class measurement to inform media buying and planning that pushes innovation, improves efficiency and meets KPIs to improve business/enrollment performance and effectiveness.
Reviews rankings methodology for inclusion on site.
Creates and maintains dashboards that provide relevant and actionable feedback for UComm.
Ensures data fidelity (SF Insight, GA4, Slate CRM).
Maintains and optimizes campaign measurement strategies using tracking tags and other appropriate tools.
Collaborates with UComm members to determine KPIs for assessing campaign effectiveness.
Regularly generates ad hoc reports on campaign performance and other related marketing and enrollment metrics for leadership.
