We're hiring an Associate Director of Events (Production), to support the production team in the creation and execution of our editorial events, including in-person, virtual, external tentpoles, and Axios summits. Why it matters: Production is what makes events happen. We need an Associate Director of Events (Production), who will be a leader and activator for the Axios event production team and all events, including virtual, in-person, global, and Axios summits.
Go deeper: The role will assist with the production team and operations for 3-6 weekly Axios events. The role will include technical production and leading production on-site at events. Technical production might include but is not limited to producing virtual segments, managing the on-site camera and livestream elements, serving as a liaison with production vendors, show-calling, stage-management, and technical direction, creating, managing, and implementing logistical documents (ROS, build and load-in schedules, briefings, etc.), airing the show on our social and virtual platforms, and managing back-of-house and event production operations.

3-5+ years of high volume, fast-paced event production experience Proven experience in show-calling, stage management, and producing live (in-person or virtual) open press events Proven track record of stage and event management experience Ability to work independently on tasks, but collaborate often with a team Desire to think creatively about asset design and set fabrication Proven ability in communicating and handling executive-level and higher-profile newsmakers Strong vendor management skills and, ideally, an established network of strong vendors Ability to problem solve and resolve issues quickly Strong organizational and time management skills Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment Desire to work hard, learn new skills, and grow professionally Ability to edit video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro under tight deadlines Strong understanding of Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) A strong understanding of the virtual event space, platforms, and industry-leading technologies Ability to travel regularly and independently to serve as the production leader for events Ability to work early mornings and late nights Project management software experience is a plus (i.e. Wrike) High emotional intelligence and deep commitment to progressive diversity and inclusion practices Base salary for this role is $82,000-$90,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits.
